My name is Cory Aldrich, I have reached 31 years of age. I am most concerned with the most important part of being a human, and that's being.
I was born and raised where I still reside, in San Antonio, Texas. My goals in life are more broad because I am not yet sure where I will end up, besides being a great father and husband. Academically, my goal is to finish my BA in Information Systems this Fall with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Professionally, I have many interests but once I return to the workforce, I will get more experience and look to where I want to go next in my career. I have been in the Information Technology industry since 2013, working at Chase Bank as a Team Lead for Website Support and at Rackspace as a Support Technician. Before that, I worked at Bill Miller BBQ as an Assistant Manager from 2005-2012, and Whataburger as a Manager for a short period of time. The most important things for me professionally are a place I enjoy working, and something challenging that excites me.
I originally did not want to go to College. When I was 20, I decided to take a few classes at San Antonio College and see where it went. Initially, I majored in Music Business. After a few semesters I changed that to Liberal Arts. A year later my indecision was evident again when I changed my major one last time to Business Administration. During my years at SAC, I worked a lot of hours and treated school as secondary. Ultimately I ended up earning degrees for both Business Administration and Liberal Arts, not realizing I got all the credits needed for the two of them. I started at UTSA in 2016, taking one class per semester while I worked. In early 2018 I was laid off from my job due to staffing cuts, so I decided to make it full time here and finish the degree I started.
The future for me is unclear at the moment, but in the coming months I will be researching opportunities for the end of this year or beginning of next year. As you can see I'm quite the indecisive person, and I've had many jobs that started off great but didn't stay great. That's why the most important thing to me is to find a place that cultivates happiness, growth and success. In terms of work interests, I do like learning about Windows Administration, Network Administration, and eventually ending up as an IT leader. Being a leader is where my true passion lies.
I have tons of interests. I love hanging out with my wife and my three-year old son, going to the park with them, watching movies. Some of my hobbies are playing and watching basketball, listening to as much Heavy Metal as possible, listening to podcasts, working out, training Martial Arts (Kickboxing), watching MMA and Boxing, reading books, meditation, playing video games. As you can see I am interested in A LOT, this is only some of the things that peak my interest. It is also clear that I do not consume almost anything to a very high degree, because I simply don't have enough time with all of my other activities. My only real past times are memes on Twitter and anything YouTube has to offer.
